What does Design Our Travel® do?
We are a modern, full-service travel agency that designs customized vacations, honeymoons, all-inclusive getaways, cruises, and group trips to Mexico, the Caribbean, and beyond. From discovery to departure, we handle every detail so you can travel effortlessly and confidently.
What destinations do you specialize in?
Our focus is on Mexico and the Caribbean, where we have deep expertise and long-standing supplier relationships. We also assist with select U.S. and additional international destinations based on your travel style and fit with our services.
Do you work with clients outside of your local area?
Yes. We work virtually with clients across the United States using scheduled calls and secure digital planning tools to collaborate seamlessly, no matter where you're located.
OUR PROCESS + WORKING TOGETHER
What’s the first step to working with you?
Start by filling out our inquiry form. From there, you’ll be invited to schedule a planning consultation where we’ll learn more about your trip and determine if our services are the right fit.
Do you charge a planning or consultation fee?
No. We offer complimentary consultations, and our expert planning service is included when you book with us. However, if you are planning a destination wedding, we have various packages available from complimentary room block management to destination wedding planning services.
How do you get paid?
We’re compensated through commissions paid to us by our trusted travel partners. This model allows us to provide expert guidance with your best interest in mind at every step.
How far in advance should I start planning?
We recommend reaching out 6 to 12 months in advance for international travel, honeymoons, and group trips. Cruises and high-season vacations often benefit from even earlier planning.
What happens after I book with you?
Once your trip is confirmed, you’ll receive a booking confirmation and a receipt for your deposit. You’ll also receive ongoing updates, travel reminders, and our continued support until your return.
DESTINATIONS, TRIP TYPES + POLICIES
Can you help with last-minute travel?
While we specialize in well-planned, curated travel experiences, we occasionally accommodate last-minute requests. Please note that availability may be limited, and additional rush fees may apply.
Do you book flights?
Yes, we assist with flights that are part of a complete travel package or itinerary. We do not book standalone airfare.
Can you help with group travel or celebration trips?
Absolutely. We frequently assist with milestone birthdays, family getaways, bachelor and bachelorette trips, fundraising efforts, and group celebrations.
What happens if I need to cancel or change my trip?
We always recommend purchasing comprehensive travel protection, which will be offered to you at time of deposit. Cancellation and change policies vary by supplier. Should you need to cancel or make changes, we’ll help guide you through the options available and any applicable fees.
COMMUNICATION + SUPPORT
How do I communicate with you during the planning process?
We use scheduled phone consultations, email, and a secure client portal to manage your trip efficiently. We respond to all communications within 2 business days.
What are your office hours?
We operate by appointment only and each Travel Designer sets their own appointment schedules.
Do you provide support while I’m traveling?
Yes. We monitor your itinerary and remain available while you travel for urgent travel issues or real-time assistance while you're away through our designated Emergency Travel Hotline.

What makes Design Our Travel® different from other agencies or online booking sites?
We offer a highly personalized planning experience, rooted in relationships, expertise, and thoughtful design. Unlike mass-market platforms, we take time to understand your travel style, tailor every detail, and act as your advocate before, during, and after your trip.
What travel styles or trip types do you not book?
We focus on high-quality, curated travel experiences. We do not book budget backpacking trips, à la carte Airbnb stays, or standalone airline tickets. If we’re not the right fit for your request, we’re always happy to refer you to a trusted colleague.
Can you help with travel for events or business?
Yes. We provide support for business travel, retreats, incentive travel, fundraising efforts, and VIP services. Please contact us to discuss your needs and we’ll determine whether we’re a match for your event or corporate itinerary.
